In 74 information packed pages the reader, assumed to start with zero knowledge, is shown how to construct web pages such as those seen on this web site using only the free resources of the web.

The material consists of two parts: (1) Web Construction (pages 2-36) and (2) Web Design (pages 37-74).

In part 1, the reader is taken through the fundamentals of the hypertext markup language, to building multimedia web pages to uploading them to the Internet --- in simple, easy-to-understand terms. These web pages are constructed primarily to illustrate the use of the code with little concern for style. This provides the foundation for part 2.

Part 2 deals entirely with design/style. Numerous new code elements are introduced (15 are listed but some on that list are groups of 3 to 4) which add attractive features normally seen only on costly authoring software generated pages. These include mouseover events, novel graphic techniques, forms, pictures in motion, audio, search tools, various javascript inserts, image maps and more.
